Day 67
Hello my friends. It’s Day 67 and another few days have slipped by. Full days, glorious days, yes, but days away from you. I swear that time is speeding up. Actually, there is evidence that this may be true. The Schumann Resonances are a series of extremely low frequencies (ELFs) in the earth’s electromagnetic field. The base frequency is at 7.83 Hz. Our bodies are attuned to this frequency and it is as important to us as oxygen. Astronauts have devices in their spacecraft to generate this frequency to stabilize their health while in space and away from this earth frequency. There has been an increase in this base frequency, and along with other magnetic shifts, it has been suggested that this change affects our perception of time. That’s why there just never seems to be enough hours in the day.
Anyhoo, I’d like to jump into the promised series “The 7 Points of Power.” I am excited to share with you just how powerful you are. When you see the truth of your being, how brilliant you are, you will be able to stand in your power and build the life that you desire. If you don’t believe that right now, you will by the end of this series.
Several years ago I developed a 2-hour workshop on these seven points, subtitled “Reclaim Your Life and Unleash Your Power.” I had been certified to teach the healing work of author and publisher, Louise Hay. Her seminal work is You Can Heal Your Life. This amazing book is all about how our emotions affect the state of our physical well-being. What we think about, and what we feel, literally creates our physical body and the state of our health. It also affects the decisions we make about our life and whether or not we choose a healthy lifestyle. Naturally, this all has an impact on whether or not we accomplish goals that we choose. Over the next seven days, we’ll look at each of the Points of Power that Louise has identified.
The first Point of Power is: Every thought we think is creating our future. Thanks to movies like What the Bleep Do We Know and The Secret, and many books on the subject of quantum physics, many of us have at least heard of the concept that all of the universe, including each one of us, is energy. Our bodies are energy, our thoughts are energy, and our emotions are energy. The energy that organizes to form our body, as a vehicle for our soul, interacts with all the other energy of the universe. This energy has a magnetic quality to it that attracts to you the people, things and events that are resonating at the same frequency.
You might recognize this as the Law of Attraction. It is also known as the Law of Cause and Effect. When you have a thought that you believe is true, and that you place your attention on and invest your energy in, that thought sets in motion the construction of your future in accordance with that belief. Your thought is the Cause and what manifests in physical form is the Effect. Fleeting thoughts rarely show up in physical form because there is little energy attached to them. They are quickly overridden by other more powerful thoughts before they have time to manifest. But when you add energy to a thought by thinking it frequently or by adding the energy of emotion, that thought will become your reality. What you have in your life right now, is the accumulation of your past thoughts and feelings.
This is really good news! If you have created a life that is chock full of blessings and beauty, you can tell that your thoughts and feelings are aligned with abundance and beauty. If you don’t have a life that you love or have experiences that you don’t want, your thoughts and feelings are not in alignment with abundance and beauty.
When you don’t reach goals that you want, when you don’t live in joy and health, this does not mean that you are to blame. Please never allow yourself to place this burden on your shoulders. It is not the truth. This is an opportunity to accept that you are a powerful creator. The truth is that you are absolutely brilliant. You are the master of your universe. If what you have is less than stellar and not what you would consciously choose, all you have to do is focus your energy on what would make your heart sing. When you change your belief structure and your emotional landscape (the Cause), you change your whole life (the Effect). Your life changes because you change the energy of your thoughts and feelings and that energy attracts different results.
One note of caution. Not all of your thoughts are conscious. We each have a vast subconscious and unconscious reservoir of thought. Like an iceberg, there is so much under the surface that you don’t know is there. If you are getting results that you’re not happy with, there is likely a thought in your subconscious mind or your deep unconscious that is in conflict with what you are consciously setting your sights on. If you want to change these hidden thoughts that seem like they may be sabotaging whether you reach goals or experience frustration, the quickest thing to do is a bit of digging to bring them to light.
For each of the Points of Power, we’re going to do a bit of exploration. Today (or early tomorrow), I’d like you to set aside 30 minutes of your focus time for this exercise. You’ll need pen and paper, and your kitchen timer. I’ll present you with 10 ideas. One at a time, set your timer for 3 minutes and write what you believe about each idea. Don’t stop to “think” about it, just keep writing. You want to create a flow that allows things to just pop up from your subconscious without censoring. You’re trying to uncover something that you weren’t aware of before that is getting in the way of your success. Write what your beliefs are about:
Men
Women
Love
Sex
Health
Work
Money
Success
Failure
God
When you review what you’ve written, you’ll no doubt find that you’ve got some positive beliefs about each idea. You may also find that some negative beliefs snuck in under your radar (or maybe you already knew they were there :-)). It’s important to also look at how your beliefs relate to each other and find any conflicts that might arise. Are there any connections, or disconnects, between your beliefs about women and money? Between God and sex? Between love and work? Between men and women?
If the energy of your thoughts creates your future, do you really want to have these seed thoughts bear fruit later on? What would you choose differently? Write some affirmations, or Afformations, that will blossom into beautiful dreams fulfilled. Be willing to let old, out-dated and weak beliefs go. Grab hold of fresh, evolutionary and empowering beliefs. Bolster them up with the juice of positive emotions like love, hope, joy, confidence and excitement. Don’t you feel more powerful already?? Now go out and own your day!
Point of Power #2 is tomorrow.
Manys Blessings,
Sharon

Day 75
As we’re moving into a new quarter of this challenge to achieve your goals, let’s just take a quick peek at what we’ve learned, how far we’ve come and what we’ve accomplished.
We began in the Warm-Up Phase with the Brain Dump. You created a master list of everything you think you want to be, do and have–sort of spitting it all out so you could see it all. before you Because I really wanted you to take immediate action, I asked you to go through that list and identify those things that you could achieve if you devoted up to 3 hours of focused time on each. Then I set you loose to just chip away at those things that you thought might become distractions once we got into the main part of the challenge.
A couple of days later we sorted our main Brain Dump list again. To the 3-Hour List we added the 1-Month List, the 100-Day List, the 1-Year List, the 5-Years List and the 5-Years+ List. This should have relieved some of the pressure of having to get all of your dreams accomplished at once. And it also should have given you some hope that most of your dreams actually could come true much faster than you thought if you just put a little focus on them. I hope it snapped you out of procrastination!
We also started talking about the importance of having support. We can get so much more done when we’re encouraging each other and helping each other out. You’ve got your support team, right? And we talked about your “Big Why.” I know that when I looked at everything on my lists and asked myself why I wanted that, I was able to cross off a few things. I realized that they were either old dreams, or not really important, or that they were never my own dreams to begin with. You pared down your lists a bit too, didn’t you?
And, finally, before getting into the starting blocks, I encouraged you to get out and have some fun, and I gave you some ideas and tools for keeping yourself motivated along the way. I was quite thrilled with the amount of things I completed in these warm-up days. How about you?
Once that starter’s pistol fired, I asked you to check off all the goals on your 3-Hour List and your 1-Month List that you wanted to reach in the first quarter of the challenge. It might have seemed like a lot. Then we sorted all of those things into 8 categories: Personal & Spiritual Growth, Health, Family & Friends, Relationships, Money, Physical Environment, Fun & Recreation and Work/Career. We weren’t necessarily looking for balance, just what would be our top priorities during this challenge. From here we chose what we wanted to accomplish, checked in with our support team and then buckled down to a 5-day push to get things completed.
When we talked about the force of focus, I asked you to get a kitchen timer to help keep you working intently for short periods of time and keep you away from distractions. Multi-tasking is not good for your brilliant brains! We talked about how important it is to start your day on the right foot. It’s an act of self-love. How are you doing with this? Can you up your daily quotient of self-nurturing?
After just a few days my guides stepped in to change my planned course (always be willing to be sent in a new direction). Rather than talking about more technical things, we got back to a lighter conversation about what really makes your heart sing. No system will work if you’re trying to apply it to something you don’t want to do anyways. I also shared with you the importance of owning your truth. We are far more brilliant than we often give ourselves credit for. Step into yourself and shine your light. We all want what you have to offer.
I had my reality turned upside down while I was at the Awakening Your Brilliance weekend. I was shown how we do need to focus, but also to allow the Universe, Spirit, God to throw all those plans out the window. Finally, on Day 92, I was able to connect with my head again and fill you in on the Passion Test Process. If you didn’t do it, go back to Day 92 and do it now. You’ll love yourself for that.
Next I introduced you to the Afformations process - like affirmations but questions instead of declarations. When you get your brain actively trying to answer a question, it drops its focus on why your affirmation isn’t true (yet) and gets busy on making it true. My Motivator software just popped up “Why is my life such a blast?” And my brain just started spilling out all the reasons my life already is a blast. How wonderful.
After completing the first 10 days and having so many wins with your 3-Hour List, I asked you to look at your 1-Month List, take those things that you checked off as being the things you wanted to get done this first quarter, and break them down into 3-hour chunks. Then you were back at it again. Getting things done. Having victories. I don’t think I mentioned that it’s okay, actually preferable, to still have a daily To Do List. This will keep you focused on the rest of your life. Just be sure to add what you think are your next priorities from your 3-Hour List as well.
For our 5-day push from Day 90 to Day 86, I didn’t get any posting done. I actually hit a road block that got me derailed. Some old habits popped up that lead me to a new level of discovery. That brought the post about your circadian rhythms–when are you most productive? I realized how time has passed and I am no longer so sharp late at night. While it may be frustrating to have old habits you thought you’d broken come back or to discover new obstacles, you can’t let that stop you. Just ask yourself what it’s about and then make the changes that will shoot you forward. Create an Afformation for it to get your whole being aligned.
At this point, I knew I needed to bring out the big guns, one of my more radical techniques. I had to ask myself, “Just How Bad Can It Get?” I hope you had as much fun with this one as I did. It sure got me moving again with renewed vigor.
Remember the ham story? Did you find any habits that you wanted to change because there was no real reason to do them?
On Day 82 I talked about the state of the economy and how critical it is to stay your course, to believe in yourself and your dreams. I encouraged you to remain confident and not give in to the fear. When you trust in life, things magically appear. That lead me into a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. And several more days away from posting. I came back and shared with you some of the things I am most grateful for, including you all. I also was honest about how I was feeling somewhat discouraged by the lack of comments being made here. Yes, that’s my emotional stuff to deal with (and we’re going to be talking about emotions very soon). I just found out from a friend that there might actually have been a problem with the blog that prevented you from being able to post comments. That’s fixed now.
That brings us current at Day 72 (not Day 75). Yes, I’m backtracking a bit, trying to catch up on missed posts. I’ve got some great stuff in store for you that I don’t want you to miss. Starting on Day 70, I’m going to do a 7-day series on the 7 Points of Power. Going through this program I created was what started me on this whole blog project in the first place. These are key points that will really help you reach goals that you didn’t think could come true.
You’ve done so much already. You can be so proud. Have I accomplished everything that I wanted in this first quarter of the challenge. No. I do know that I have far exceeded what I would have done if I hadn’t attended to my dreams. And I’m far happier. How about you?
Enough for today. My fingers are starting to cramp and my eyes are getting fuzzy. Yours eyes must be fuzzy too after reading all this. Some of these posts are way too long. I know that I’ve got to simplify because it holds up the process. I’m fighting my brain’s tendency to complicate things. The ego still complains every once in a while about the heart taking the lead. My heart will win. Bye for now, friends. See you tomorrow.
Many Blessings,
Sharon

Day 76
Monday was Thanksgiving Day here in Canada. A day to spend with family and friends. A day to count our blessings. I found that a hard task, because my blessings seem innumerable! It’s worth the time though, and I encourage you, my friends, to spend some time being grateful if you want to achieve your goals.
Many people talk and write about how important gratitude is. They say that to reach goals and create a life that you are grateful for, you have to be grateful first. Why is that? By expressing our gratitude for what we already have, we change our heart. We open it up and make room for more. We change our vibration to one of the highest possible and so we attract more good that resonates with that frequency. And when we express our gratitude in advance for what we desire, we demonstrate a level of trust that the Universe, or God, is always on our side and will provide what we ask for.
Today, and always, I am grateful for my loving family, each and every one of my precious friends. I feel blessed to live in a time and a place where I can share my gifts and my opinions so easily (on this blog). I give thanks for a healthy body that supports me and carries me through life. I am most humbled by the opportunities to shine that are being placed before me. I’m grateful for my fridge, and stove, and bathtub and toilet. I thank the fellow who cut me off in traffic because it gave me an opportunity to slow down. I am indebted to women of the past whose sacrifices gave me the right to vote this week. I am grateful that we haven’t had snow yet.
I’ve not been posting this week for several reasons. The weekend was filled with so many hours of being with friends and family or in deep reflection on what I have to be thankful for. I am truly blessed. I see such abundance around me everywhere. It’s also been a very big week for me with my businesses. I’m trying to launch two at the same time and there is so much to do. I’ve been very focused on directing my energy to accomplish goals connected to those two projects. It’s paid off, but my commitment here has lagged.
I’ve been working really hard. Out and about taking care of things, long hours on the computer trying to learn new things (we’ll talk more about delegation some time). I’ve even fallen asleep a couple of nights watching instructional videos. None of this is a complaint. It feels really good to be busy again and productive. Neither is it an excuse. I’ve stretched myself too thin, again, and I’ve let some things fall through the cracks. So I’m getting back on track, again. Did you know that a guided missile never stays on the same course? A target is selected, it fires, starts to traverse the skies. Then it continually makes course corrections to get it to that target.
I’ve got to be honest with you. There’s another reason I’ve missed daily posting. I’ve gotten a little discouraged at times that I’m not hearing any comments from my audience. I’m not sure if the traffic I’m getting is from any real people or just the spiders. My little 5-yr-old inside has done a bit of pouting and resisting. That’s certainly not your issue. It’s 100% mine. And I’m completely grateful for this too. I have been given an opportunity to look at old hurts and heal them. That’s what I’ve done. I’ve also come to acknowledge that I’m grateful for you all, whether I hear from you or not. I trust that all is as it should be.
So, I’m back at it again tomorrow. Which is a big day for us, by the way–the beginning of our second quarter. We’ll do a review tomorrow and dive into our next phase.
For now, take some time to acknowledge all your many blessings. Express your gratitude, whether it be by word, or deed, or thought. Life supports us in every moment. Love is all around us, and is who we are. Let your love light shine today.
Many blessings,
Sharon

Day 82
I’ve purposely stayed off the topic of the current state of not only America’s economy but that of the world up until now. You see, my beauties, I live a different truth and I refuse to buy into the game that the economists, politicians and media are playing. It’s a dangerous game, so I have stayed out of it. But I recognize that some of you might be feeling afraid and might already be feeling some of the fallout of this mess. So let’s shed some light on this.
Every supposed “expert” has a different view of what is happening with the economy, and what should be done about it, or that nothing can be done about it. Did you realize that instead of being driven more by logic and sound fiscal policy, the markets and, I believe, most of business is driven purely by emotion. When there is good news reported or when there is bad news reported, people make decisions that they would not make if the situation was reversed. But they make those decisions based on their emotional reaction to what they think is happening. When we invest the energy of fear into something, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Thank goodness the same is true about investing the energy of positive-thinking, love and hope into something. Remember the saying, “Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.” There is great truth in that saying.
Stay your course, with conviction, and you will achieve your goals. Rather than becoming afraid at this time, become creative. Shine your brilliance, your light into the world. Let those who are enveloped in darkness benefit from the glow of your dreams. What dreams and goals are on your lists that you can concentrate on that will spread hope to others? What gifts do you have to offer that can comfort those who are afraid or in need? Because by helping others in this time, you will help yourself more than you could imagine.
If we give in to fear at this time and contract into our shells, we won’t have available to us the resources or the creativity we need to reach goals and succeed. When we stay aligned with the higher vibration of our passions and our dreams, we are more likely to do what it takes to be successful. We are more likely to find new and better ways of doing things. And if we remain steadfast and confident, others will be drawn to us. Yes, I’m talking about the Law of Attraction. It is true that people respond to our vibration. Happiness and laughter is contagious, but so is fear and failure.
In the Great Depression, there was a lot of misery. There was also a spirit of cooperation that was fostered. A lot of people looked out for each other. People became resourceful and learned about what was truly important to them. There were many who actually thrived, while others gave in to what they believed was out of their control. That’s not a judgment, it’s just a recognition of what can happen when we buy in to mass consciousness that is headed on a downward spiral.
We have the ability, right now, to change the course of things before they hit bottom. If we remain fixed in possibility thinking. What opportunities are there for you in your business right now (how can you solve the new challenges people are dealing with)? What opportunities are there for you in your personal life right now (how can you uplift your family and friends)? What opportunities are there for you in your spiritual life right now (how can you deepen your connection to life and truth)?
Now is the time to really call on your support team. Keep each other lifted up and moving. You don’t have to do this all alone. I am a member of a Master Mind group. I can’t tell you how valuable it has been to me, particularly lately, to have an opportunity to meet each week with a group of people who are all focused on the positive and willing to see the greater truth for each other. If one of us gets discouraged or afraid, the others are able to get that person back on track in short order. So reach out to people now. Both give and allow yourself to receive support. It’s the greatest gift available to us.
We are all endowed with free will. Despite the sometimes appearances, we all have absolute freedom. Yes, we may be restricted in certain ways by circumstances, but we always have the ability to choose how we respond to those circumstances. We cannot stick our heads in the sand and pretend that people are not losing their savings or their jobs or their homes. We absolutely must, however, choose what our response to those situations is. Will you allow fear to defeat you? Or will you take heed and decide to succeed regardless of circumstances? Will you get lost in your head? Or will you stay in your heart? I know your brilliance, my friends, so I already know what you will choose. I’m so proud of you!
Take appropriate measures to secure your finances, and then carry on with confidence. You’ll be surprised by how much support will just magically appear. I am astounded by, and supremely grateful for, so many things that are just happening for me lately without me having to orchestrate them. I know that I am being supported by life. And so are you!
Acknowledge what is, or what it “appears” to be, and then look beyond appearances for that proverbial silver lining. You’ve all floated up in the clouds before, friends, and you know that to be true. Hold on to that truth now. Live that truth now. The sky is not falling. Now is not the time to lower your expectations. Have heart. Everything will be grand and glorious if we just stay our course, if we keep focused and accomplish goals, if we stay in the light.
Many Blessings,
Sharon
“To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.” ~ Confucius
Day 83
Today I’ll start with the quote of the day instead of having it at the end because it’s such an important lesson if you want to achieve your goals.
“A rut will steal your passion and hold you hostage to where you are.” ~ Richard Flint
There is a big difference, dear friends, between developing healthy, supportive, empowering habits and being blindly stuck in a deep rut. We create good habits to enhance things that will help us accomplish goals and dreams, and we choose them consciously. A rut, on the other hand, is often something that developed so long ago that we either don’t remember why we started, or we never knew in the first place.
As Thanksgiving is coming up this Monday in Canada, I’m reminded of the ham story. Joanie was cooking a splendid ham for the big family dinner. She got the ham out, cut the end off it, put it in the roaster and popped it into the oven. Her daughter, Janie, asked Joanie why she cut the end off. She said it was because her mum always did, but she didn’t know why. Mum, Jenny, was there. When asked, she said she cut the end off because her mum always did. Well, that prompted a call to granny in the nursing home. Jessie’s reply? “Because the roasting pan was too small and I had to make it fit.”
How many of our habits have we continued, that come from outdated or irrelevant conditions? Start taking a look at the things you do on a regular basis, my starlets, and see if they still fit with this new dream that you are building. Do the things you’ve always done make your life brighter, or do they keep you chained to your old life that you are trying to recreate?
When I drastically changed my life over a year ago, I decided not to get a TV. Watching fictional people’s lives, or the messed up lives represented on “Reality” TV didn’t fit with me creating my best life. It was an enormous time suck, and put pictures in my head and vibrations in my body that were so out of sync with what I wanted for my life. The TV had to go. I’ve never regretted it.
I am noticing, however, how a lot of that TV time is now being replaced with web surfing time. I’m clearly not going to disconnect from the web. I think it is now a vital part of my life, and will be key in my business success. But I am having to get a lot smarter about how I use it–to feed my passions rather than distracting me from them. So I’m building a strategy and new habits for dealing with that effectively.
What one thing you change today? What rut can you leap out of? What new life-affirming habit can you create to replace that energy-draining rut? What drudgery can you let go of in order to make room for brilliance?
Keep moving forward, onward and upward. What have you already achieved my dears? What will you achieve by New Years Eve that will astound you and your loved ones?
Many Blessings,
Sharon

Day 84
Hello my brilliant friends. Yesterday I hinted at one of my more radical motivation techniques that I had to pull out and use on myself this week. I don’t use it very often, just when I’m really stuck and not moving towards my dreams. When I really want to reach goals, I bring out the big guns.
I say this is radical because you know that I’m all about the light. The more light, the more love, the more happiness, the more fulfillment, the more abundance. This technique takes you to the dark. I call it, “Just How Bad Can It Get?” I came up with this almost 15 years ago. I honestly don’t know if I had heard it from somewhere, but it popped into my head when I was thinking about how to get myself motivated.
I had been wondering for a while about how people actually motivate themselves. There’s the carrot and the stick method. You know, dangle a reward in front of the donkey and it will chase it. That hasn’t always worked for me. There are a lot of motivational speakers that say you need to move towards your dreams. Great. But when I looked at the stories of most of these speakers’ lives, they almost always had a hard luck, can’t go any lower, story to tell. When you’ve got nothing left to lose, you can only move towards.
But that’s not the story of my life. The worst “luck” I’ve had is that my parents divorced when I was 11. They were pretty adult about it and tried really hard not to put my brother and I in the middle. Sure, it did have some effects on me, but I can’t say it ruined my life. My life has always been pretty good. It’s just that sometimes I’m stuck in that grey zone of things not being bad enough to do something about it, and not good enough to be really happy. How do you get out of that? That was my question.
I’ve heard some speakers talk about how you should never focus on moving away from what you don’t want and should always move towards what you do want–or else you’ll never achieve your goals. I just don’t buy that. At some point you have to say, “Enough. No more of this. I don’t want this. I’ll do whatever it takes to change.” And from that point you can start moving towards what you do want.
You have to first draw a line in the sand. Then you can do a 180 degree turn and go in the other direction. That’s what “Just How Bad Can It Get?” is all about. I figured I had to create that feeling of nowhere to go but up. The first time I used this method, I was stuck in a dead end job. It was great pay and good people, but I was suffocating. I had been saying for a month that I should write up my resume and start looking for a new job. But it wasn’t happening. I had my brainstorm and I sat down. I wrote the title, “Just How Bad Can It Get If I Don’t Find a New Job?” And I went to town.
I stretched it, I let my imagination run wild, I dreamed up the worst case scenarios. I had a lot of fun doing it. I imagined carpel tunnel syndrome from so much typing. I pictured my creativity drying up and never laughing again. Ultimately, I foresaw myself becoming bitter, and dying, known only as that “crazy cat lady.” Although I exaggerated a lot of dire circumstances, it was some of the more realistic ones that were more chilling–too close to the truth and very painful. Like never letting my brilliance shine. Like no one ever seeing the real me. Like never fulfilling my life’s purpose. Like knowing that I lived my life in fear and apathy.
When I sat and read the full page that I had written, I was shaken. My blood was boiling. I vowed that I would never let that happen to me (for sure I was never going to have even one cat!). That was the moment that I drew my line in the sand and said no. That was the moment that I started to choose what I do want. Right then I wrote a half page affirmation releasing my old job with gratitude, to someone who needed it and would enjoy it. I allowed myself to envision and receive a wonderful job employing all my creative talents.
Before I could even get my resume written, I had a phone call, out of the blue, from my best friend. Her sister-in-law was working for a small company that was looking for someone full time. And she didn’t want the job. It seemed ideal. They did training and the promise was there for me to eventually be doing facilitating. Just what I wanted. I was the only person they interviewed and I got the job right away. That’s the power of making a definite decision. I was ready to take the opportunity when the Universe responded to my call. There was no hesitation. And it was that easy because I was that determined not to live the worst case scenario that I had imagined.
I’ve done that again this week. To get me refocused on my business objectives that I want to accomplish. I had found that other things were creeping onto my To Do List that weren’t identified priorities on my 3-Hour List. So I kicked myself in the butt, so I won’t have to live out the dreary picture that I painted for myself. Time to do a 180 and get myself back on track, back into the game.
So my lovlies, are you holding back on something that you’ve said you wanted? Is the picture of reward not a strong enough draw? How about a push from behind to get you flying towards it. Give yourself 10 or 20 minutes to write out your “Just How Bad Can It Get?” scenario for some dream that you’re hesitating on. Don’t dwell in the dark, but use it to propel you towards the light. Let it ignite a rocket under your butt and send you to the stars. With the right fuel, you’ll accomplish goals on your lists, even ones that you haven’t dreamed up yet. Let me know how it goes.
Many Blessings,
Sharon

Day 85
A few days ago, when I was talking about Afformations, I said that the great thing about asking questions instead of making affirmations, is that you can bypass the resistance that your ego mind might put in your way of manifesting what you want. This is true, and the ego, that part of your being that does not recognize the Truth of who you are and what you really desire, can still get to you and derail you as you try to achieve your goals. Friends, that’s what happened to me over the past few days. I got hit by a road block that I wasn’t anticipating. I’m having to employ some of my emergency measures for getting back on track.
You’ll notice that I’ve missed a few posts. Okay, 5 of them (owww!). After working hard and making some great headway, with the weekend upon me, I wanted to enjoy what could quite possibly be the last weekend of a magnificent Indian Summer. Next weekend, we could have snow (it is conceivable). So I decided that I would have fun first and then do my blog posts late at night. After all, I’m a night owl and I do my best work after 10:00 p.m. At least, that was true when I was younger.
What I’ve discovered is that my body clock has changed. We all have what are called Circadian Rhythms. This is a cycle of our biochemical, psychological and behavioral patterns over a 24-hour period. Disruptions of our circadian rhythms can lead to sleep disorders and other mental, emotional and physical symptoms. I clearly used to be an owl, preferring to stay up late and sleep late. I had a very hard time getting up early. I suspect that this has changed for me over the last 5 or so years and now I’m a lark. But a part of my mind still tells me that I’m an owl. It’s little tricks like this that you have to be on the watch for.
I’m still trying to operate on old information that my mind is feeding to me. Getting thrown like has happened for me meant that I had to stop, get serious and consciously ask myself what is going on, what the truth really is. Although I still like to stay up late, it is no longer when I have my best ideas, when I’m most efficient. I used to pull all-nighters in high school and university. Inspiration would hit and I’d work furiously through the night and hand in brilliant essays that next morning. This is the image that I carry of myself. Able to pull rabbits out of the hat at the last minute.
Sadly, this is no longer the case. As I’ve been writing this blog, I’ve come to realize that it takes me twice as long to write at night as it does when I write earlier in the day, usually in the morning. Of course, when it becomes hard, a chore to write, I’m even more inclined to put it off. And then I get backlogged and it takes massive effort to get back on track. If I want to prevent that from happening in the future, I have to own up to the fact that I now focus better in the morning than after dark. To my horror, I even find that when I go to bed before midnight, I am able to get up at 6:30 am and feel better than if I’m up until 2:00 or 3:00 am and get up at 10:00.
This means that I have to adjust to a new way of working. If I want to reach goals, to realize my dreams, I have to admit that I am now a morning person. Sigh. This is actually more significant to me than it might seem. There’s something rebellious about staying up all night. When I was a kid, my mum always had me in bed while my friends were still out playing in the streets. Not only was it hard for me because I was naturally an owl, but because I missed out on stuff that my friends were up to. And it’s these kind of memories, this patterning from the past that sticks in my subconscious mind, that can trip me up in the now. I’ve got to shatter those illusions.
I don’t really believe, like many will try to tell you, that our ego minds are out to sabotage us. By the crazy things that it makes us do, you would think this is the case. Not so. Really, it’s just a computer program running that’s got some bad code. The subconscious mind is a repository and operates deductively. That means, that it creates only on the basis of logical outcomes of the beliefs input into the database. For example, “If I am a night owl, then I will be more creative, get more done and have more fun late at night.” The subconscious does not operate inductively, it has no reasoning capacity–free will. Our free will is operative in our conscious mind.
If I want to accomplish goals and get what I truly want, I have to be more conscious. That means being aware of what is being created on autopilot from my subconscious mind. I have to start really listening to my inner dialogue and check the veracity of what I’m hearing. So it’s going to be back to morning posts for me, and focus time on my top priorities–in the morning while I am still fresh. I’m going to get back on track and keep cheering myself on to the end, because my dreams and goals are too important to me to fall behind. So I sprinkle myself with light and love, and take another step in the right direction.
What is your most productive time, bright friends? Is it first thing in the morning? Is it after lunch? Or is it just before bed? Have things changed for you? Do you need to take a good look at how you are scheduling things and make some changes so you can do your best work, so you can experience the most joy?
We’re going to be talking a bit more about our subconscious minds that seem so sneaky. If you want to be successful and happy, you’ve got to look in there and see what might be getting in the way of you shining your brilliance and creating your ideal life. I know I’ve still got lots of cobwebs that need to be swept out. But before we get into that, tomorrow I’m going to share with you one of my more radical motivation techniques that I’ve had to pull out to use on myself. It can really light a fire under you, so get ready.
Many Blessings,
Sharon
